Why Join Us?
As an Field Applications Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the stages where our systems come to life. After mechanical and electrical assembly, you’ll apply power to the machine, load and configure software, verify communication between subsystems, and perform calibration and burn-in testing. You’ll also follow and refine test procedures, document results, and help ensure every Mate Gauge system meets our performance standards before shipment.

What You'll Do
Pre and Post-Sale Applications Engineering
- Plan and lead system commissioning with customers.
- Travel onsite to deploy and verify system installations.
- Perform system updates, debugging, and remote diagnostics.
- Confirm mechanical fit onto new production lines.
- Support customers through installation, optimization, and technical troubleshooting.
System Integration & Testing
- Power up and integrate new systems, loading software, drivers, and configurations.
- Conduct acceptance testing on new hardware and software releases
- Generate calibration reports, technical documentation, and customer-specific measurement profiles
- Leverage automation tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve testing efficiency and analysis
Your Expertise
Education & Eligibility
- Education: Degree in Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Engineering Physics or related field.
- On-site Full Time: Able to work full-time onsite in our Kanata office - hands-on access to systems and in-person collaboration are essential.
- A valid Canadian passport, with an ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- A valid driver’s license.
Technical Knowledge and Skills

Hands-on Experience: electronics, sensors, and PC-based systems.

Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment: Comfort working with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and calibration tools.
- Windows Software: Basic understanding of Windows-based software installation and device drivers.
- Process Obsessed: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.

Problem Solver: determined to find a solution when something doesn’t work as expected,
ability to debug and solve complex technical problems.
- Automation: some experience with motors, automation systems, electrical and wiring.
- Sensor Savvy: familiarity with instrumentation and sensor qualification.

Sales: Some sales or client engagement experience is a plus.
